What is emilio jacinto?

Emilio Jacinto (December 15, 1875 – April 16, 1899) was a Filipino general during the Philippine Revolution. He was one of the highest-ranking officers in the Philippine Revolution and was one of the highest-ranking officers of the Katipunan. He was elected Secretary of State for the Haring Bayang Katagalugan, a revolutionary government established during the hostilities.

Jacinto was the author of the Kartilya ng Katipunan, which served as the Katipunan's code of conduct. He is considered the "Brains of the Katipunan", succeeding Andrés Bonifacio in this role. He used the pseudonym Dimasilaw and also penned essays under the name Pingkian.

His revolutionary activities primarily took place in Laguna. He died of malaria at the young age of 23 in Magdalena, Laguna. Jacinto is considered a national hero in the Philippines.
